Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a Special Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi, marking 800 years since the saint’s death and inviting the whole Church into a renewed season of grace, peace, and spiritual renewal. Beginning January 10 and extending through January 2027, this Franciscan Jubilee calls every Christian to follow the example of the Poverello, the “Little Poor One”, by becoming witnesses of peace, charity, and holiness of life. During this time, the faithful may receive a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions, including pilgrimage to a Franciscan church or a site dedicated to St. Francis. In announcing the jubilee, Pope Leo XIV emphasized that St. Francis’ message is especially urgent in a world marked by division, conflict, and environmental harm. True peace, the Holy Father reminds us, unites peace with God, peace among peoples, and peace with all of creation.
May this Jubilee Year inspire hearts to deeper conversion, renewed hope, and a lasting commitment to live the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis.

With this Mass, celebrated in the evening of the Thursday of Holy Week, the Church begins the sacred Easter Triduum and devotes herself to the remembrance of the Last Supper. This Mass is the memorial of the institution of the Eucharist and the institution of the priesthood, by which Christ's mission and sacrifice are perpetuated in the world. In addition, this Mass is the memorial of that love by which the Lord loved us even to death. Eucharistic Adoration will continue until 11PM. |

On Good Friday, the entire Church fixes her gaze on the Cross at Calvary. Good Friday is the day that Jesus died for our sins. Each member of the Church tries to understand at what cost Christ has won our redemption. In the solemn ceremonies of Good Friday, in the veneration of the Cross, in the reading of the Passion, and in receiving the pre-consecrated Host, we unite ourselves to our Savior, and we contemplate our own death to sin in the Death of our Lord.
