For his Eagle Scout project, Aaron Perrone, a scout in Troop 1 Narragansett and a senior at Narragansett High school senior is working in collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters of R.I. to place clothing bins at several locations to collect clothes. A bin will be placed at the back of St. Francis Church during this month. Help support our young parishioner, Aaron, and drop off any gently used clothing.
We invite you to grow closer to Jesus through the Jesus and the Eucharist study that will be featured in our Men Of St. Joseph and Women's faith sharing groups over the coming weeks. Each session is full of rich theological content, powerful testimonies, and unique and timely messages from individual bishops across the country. This is a great opportunity to dive more deeply into the richness of our Eucharistic faith. We will start the Week of January 19, 2026. Men Of St. Joseph - Mondays @ 6:30PM Lower Level Church Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a Special Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi, marking 800 years since the saint’s death and inviting the whole Church into a renewed season of grace, peace, and spiritual renewal. Beginning January 10 and extending through January 2027, this Franciscan Jubilee calls every Christian to follow the example of the Poverello, the “Little Poor One”, by becoming witnesses of peace, charity, and holiness of life. During this time, the faithful may receive a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions, including pilgrimage to a Franciscan church or a site dedicated to St. Francis. In announcing the jubilee, Pope Leo XIV emphasized that St. Francis’ message is especially urgent in a world marked by division, conflict, and environmental harm. True peace, the Holy Father reminds us, unites peace with God, peace among peoples, and peace with all of creation. |
