  • Tri-parish Tent Revival: Living in the Spirit

    The parishes of St. Pius X, St. Mary’s/St. James Chapel and St.Francis of Assisi/St. Romuald Chapel are hosting a three-night Tent Revival, “Living in the Spirit”. In 1959 Pope St. John XXIII is quoted, “Throw open the windows of the church and let the fresh air of the spirit blow through.” We believe God is calling for us to renew Pope St. John’s wishes and help keep the Holy Spirit flowing through the windows of the church and the windows of our hearts. Come join us July 24th, 25th and 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Road, Charlestown RI. Each night will begin with praise and worship music led by Christian artist Jon Polce, followed by teaching/witness talks on opening ourselves to allow the Spirit of God to live within us. The third night concludes with speaker and Evangelist, Walter Burke JR., of the “Burke Family Singers” fame, as he prepares us all with a deeper understanding of how to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

    Spend the earlier part of Super Bowl Sunday at Old Mountain Lanes!! You will be home in plenty of time to watch the Super Bowl!!
    Cost: $12.00 for bowling, be sure to bring additional money if you would like to purchase something to eat.

    This is the holiest night of the Church’s year as we recall Christ’s Resurrection from the dead. Beginning in darkness with the light of candles, we enter into the celebration of his Resurrection singing the Gloria and Alleluia for the first time since the beginning of Lent.

  • Wednesday evening Prayer Group

    Our prayer group meets every Wednesday at 6-7:30pm in the Lower Church (Helen Bouchard Hall). Father Al Ranallo and Deacon John Dowd lead the evening with Charismatic Praise and Worship and the sharing of God’s Word. ALL ARE INVITED TO ATTEND!

    Mark your calendars to participate in this year’s Alpha program! Alpha is an opportunity to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to join you in exploring life’s biggest questions through the Christian faith. It’s a series of interactive sessions that begin with a delicious meal followed by a short film and small group discussions to intentionally create space for the Holy Spirit to lead people to a personal encounter and relationship with Jesus.   • Kick off Gala for our St. Francis Kitchen Renovation

    Join us for an evening of music by the local Narrow River Band, Hors d'oeuvres, and beverages to help raise money for our parish center kitchen renovation. There will also be a silent auction that includes a charter fishing boat trip, a dinner for 6 at the Coast Guard House and a week long stay at a Myrtle beach condo. Cost for the evening is $35/person. Ticket sales can be purchased in advance at the parish office or through the form in the bulletin.
    We are looking to renovate more than a kitchen for our St. Francis of Assisi Parish Family, we are looking to “Renovate Hearts.” Hope to see you there!
