Father Albert Ranallo, Pastor
Fr. Ranallo was born and raised in Providence, RI. Fr. Ranallo assumed the role of pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish on October 1, 2022. Fr. Ranallo also serves as Director of Chaplaincy at Rhode Hospital, Director of pastoral care at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, and Coordinator of Pastoral Care of Healthcare Facilities. He has served as pastor at St. Ann’s Parish and as an assistant pastor at St. Augustine Parish in Providence.
Deacon John Dowd
Deacon John W. Dowd was born in Providence, Rhode Island in his early years he lived with his mother and seven siblings in Admiral Terrace Housing development and attended St. Patrick’s Church and school. Later they moved to Cranston where he attended St. Matthew’s School and Our Lady of Providence High School (among others).
After serving in the USAFSS, Deacon Dowd attended CCRI where he met his wife Cathy and they were married. He and Cathy have three adult daughters, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. After moving to North Kingstown he attended St. Francis of De Sales parish where through a variety of conversion experiences his faith grew and his calling to serve God as a Deacon first surfaced.
He later earned his BA in Psychology from Rhode Island College and completed his graduate studies for Deaconate formation at Providence College. He was ordained Deacon by Bishop Robert Tobin on February 3, 2013 and was assigned as Deacon Assistant at Our lady of Mercy parish with a parochial assignment to St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Home in East Greenwich for 6 ½ years.
Deacon Dowd is also a business owner, founder and President of Dowd & Associates, Inc., Tax and Wealth Management in East Greenwich, RI.
